Clarksdale, MS – The 2025 CATBOWL Alumni Kickball Game brought excitement and unity to Nosef Park as alumni from Coahoma County High School (CCHS) and Clarksdale High School (CHS) faced off in a spirited matchup.

The idea for the event came from Ryan Shaw and Goldie Williams, who wanted to create something positive for the community.
We just wanted to bring some positive energy to Clarksdale, and what better time than after the Catfish football game,” said Ryan Shaw.
Goldie Williams added, “My cousin Ryan called me and asked if we could get something together to bring the schools together. I said, why not?

The day featured food trucks, vendors, and a performance from the Crimson Flamettes dance team, adding to the festive atmosphere. Fans from both schools packed the stands, cheering loudly for their teams.

Special thanks were given to the Clarksdale Police Department and Fire Department for their presence and support. Clarksdale Police Investigation Detective Johnny Jones earned the game’s MVP award, while former CCHS, Coahoma Community College, and Alcorn State standout Nakia Cheatnum was named Defensive Player of the Game.

Adding to the excitement, Coahoma County’s head basketball coach Derrick Moore also took the field, showing his support for the event.

The CATBOWL Alumni Kickball Game not only brought entertainment but also strengthened the bonds between two schools and the broader Clarksdale community.
