Clarksdale, Mississippi – On September 22nd, the community gathered for a night of honor, gratitude, and reflection at the annual First Responders Ball, hosted by EMG Opportunities LLC. The event was founded by Sherica Griffin in memory of her mother, the late Emma Mae Griffin, whose lifelong dedication to service and community inspired the company’s mission.

EMG, named in Emma Mae Griffin’s honor, was created to continue her legacy of giving back. “One of the things my mother always did was contribute to her community,” said Griffin. “Through EMG, I want to carry forward her spirit and be a true community advocate.”

The First Responders Ball is one of EMG’s signature projects, designed to recognize and uplift those who serve on the front lines—whether currently active, retired, or remembered posthumously. “It’s not often you hear about anyone showing appreciation for first responders or providing them with an environment where they can truly relax,” Griffin explained. “This ball is an opportunity to do both.”

The event provides a rare occasion for first responders to come together outside the pressures of their demanding roles and to be celebrated by the very community they serve. It also shines a light on the sacrifices—both seen and unseen—that these individuals make to keep Clarksdale and surrounding areas safe.

With EMG Opportunities LLC at the forefront, the First Responders Ball has become more than just an evening of recognition. It is a tradition that reflects the values of service, gratitude, and legacy, ensuring that those who dedicate their lives to protecting others are never forgotten.
