Clarksdale, MS – On Saturday, Clarksdale residents gathered for the 3rd Annual Sexual Assault Awareness Parade, a powerful event organized by Teresa Poindexter, Founder of Inspirations LLC Counseling and Consulting.
Poindexter, a passionate advocate for mental health and trauma recovery, established Inspirations LLC to empower individuals and families facing life’s toughest challenges. Through counseling, advocacy, and community engagement, her mission is to break the silence surrounding trauma—especially sexual assault.
“This is my third annual Sexual Assault Awareness Parade here in Clarksdale, where I am adamant about bringing awareness and shining light on a sensitive topic that’s silenced by so many because of guilt or shame,” Poindexter said during the event. “But today and every day, we shall break through the silence, end the violence, and speak out. They said NO, and NO means NO.”
The parade featured survivors, families, supporters, and advocates walking together in solidarity. Signs, chants, and shared moments of reflection highlighted the strength of a community determined to stand against sexual violence and support those affected by it.
“To survivors and families struggling with sexual assault or any other trauma, I am here to provide support,” Poindexter emphasized. “Your voice is your power.”
