Clarksdale, Mississippi – On Wednesday, March 20, 2023, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., hosted a ‘Let’s Talk Politics and Voter Registration Drive’ at Clarksdale High School. The fraternity partnered with the Clarksdale High School history department to give students the opportunity to register to vote and have a Q&A session about politics.
The event began with a welcome from Basileus Otha E. Williams II, an occasion speech by Immediate Past Basileus Brother Greg Hoskins, insights on Politics Today from Mayor Chuck Espy, and perspectives from Coahoma County Circuit Clerk Ms. Demetris Jackson.
Students received valuable information regarding polling stations, voting dates, accessing candidate platform information, and more. The session concluded with a trivia game moderated by Brother Ricky Fields and Darrell Moton, in which all students participated. Winners received monetary prizes for demonstrating their knowledge on voting. The event ended with closing remarks by C.H.S. Principal Mr. David Kelly.
