This gathering of musical talent aims to honor the legacy of choral music programs at HBCUs, which have long been cultural pillars and incubators of artistic excellence in the African American community. Dr. Kelvin Towners, Coahoma Community College’s Director of Fine Arts and Director of Choir Activities, expressed his excitement about the event.

“We are immensely proud to host this year’s HBCU Choral Music Festival. It is a celebration not only of the extraordinary musical talents of our students but also of the rich heritage of Historically Black Colleges and Universities,” said Dr. Towers. “Choral music has long been a way to uplift and unite, and this festival is a testament to that enduring power. We invite the community to join us in what promises to be an unforgettable evening of music and fellowship.”

The festival is expected to draw a diverse audience from the local community and surrounding regions, bringing people together to witness the unique artistry of these choirs.
