Clarksdale, Mississippi – The 4K Club, led by CEO Kyra Robinson, hosted its second annual toy drive this holiday season, bringing hope and happiness to families in need across Clarksdale. What began last year as Robinson’s personal mission to give back has quickly evolved into a cherished community event.
“I used to live in Atlanta and Texas, but every time I came back to Clarksdale, I always wanted to give back,” Robinson shared. “The needs in the community inspired me to start this toy drive, and it’s been an honor to do this for the families here.”
This year’s toy drive was made possible thanks to the generosity of numerous donors and partners. Former NFL player Terrance Metcalf contributed to the cause, alongside local supporters like Walmart and Dr. Brian Edwards. Dr. Edwards, known for his Dino Fam Collections, Dino Mart, and Dino Fam Foundation, donated an array of dinosaurs and teddy bears to bring smiles to children’s faces.
The 4K Club also partnered with C.A.R.E.S. this year to introduce a heartwarming new addition: kittens and puppies were given to local families. To ensure these furry friends are well cared for, grants will be provided to help families cover the costs of food and supplies for their new pets.
Support from organizations across the community was critical to the event’s success. The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity contributed half of the toy donations, while local churches, fraternities, and sororities also stepped up to help.
Last year, the toy drive distributed over 2,500 toys. This year, the 4K Club surpassed that milestone, giving away more than 3,000 toys to children in Clarksdale. “It’s just an honor to give back to the community,” Robinson said. “I want to thank everyone who donated and The Clarksdale Advocate for coming out to show support—it means a lot.”
The annual 4K Club Toy Drive is a testament to the power of community and generosity. With continued support, Robinson and her team plan to make an even greater impact in the years to come.
