Call for Presentation Proposals: Black Men’s Health Equity Conference 2025

(Jackson, MS) February 4, 2025 — The Institute for the Advancement of Minority Health invites health researchers, community-based organizations, and advocates to submit presentation proposals for the upcoming Black Men’s Health Equity Conference.

The Black Men’s Health Equity Conference will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025, in the Student Center at Jackson State University, Jackson, MS. This annual conference is a powerful platform that explores critical health issues affecting Black men while developing solutions that promote positive health outcomes and well-being.

The Institute welcomes proposals on a broad range of topics related to Black men’s health, including but not limited to:

  • Chronic Disease Prevention, Management, and Advocacy
  • Climate Change and Environmental Health: Building a Healthier Planet for Black Communities
  • Technology and Innovation in Black Men’s Health
  • The Future of Black Men’s Health
  • Trauma, Suicide, and Depression in Black Men
  • The Politics of Black Men’s Health and
  • Other Health Disparities & Wellness-Focused Topics

This conference is an opportunity for individuals, groups, and/or organizations to share their research, innovative strategies, and impactful initiatives with a network of professionals and advocates dedicated to improving health outcomes for Black men.

The Institute for the Advancement of Minority Health was established in 2019 to reduce health disparities among disadvantaged and underserved minority populations in Mississippi through the development of collaborative partnerships with community stakeholders and the implementation of evidence-based public health interventions with a particular focus on health equity.
