Journalist Roland Martin to Headline Black Men’s Health Equity Conference in Jackson, MS

(Jackson, MS) April 7, 2025 — Award-winning journalist Roland Martin is coming to Jackson, MS this summer.  Martin is the keynote speaker for the third annual Black Men’s Health Equity Conference sponsored by the Institute for the Advancement of Minority Health.  The conference will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025, in the Student Center on the campus Jackson State University, located at 1400 JR Lynch Street, Jackson, MS. The Black Men’s Health Equity Conference is free and brings together community leaders, healthcare professionals, and advocates to address critical health disparities facing Black men in Mississippi. The deadline to register is July 31, 2025

Martin, a prominent voice in media, civil rights, and social justice, will discuss the future of Black men’s health.  His message will inspire attendees to engage in conversations about access to quality care that will produce positive wellness outcomes.  Martin’s dedication to marginalized communities aligns with the Institute’s mission to reduce health disparities and improve health outcomes for Black men in Mississippi. The conference will feature panel discussions on mental health, chronic disease prevention, and environmental justice.  Attendees will have the opportunity to network with professionals and participate in workshops designed to foster health education and advocacy.
