Clarksdale’s Own Tyler Washington Heads to Alcorn State After Stellar Senior Year

Clarksdale, Mississippi – Tyler James Washington, the son of Kendric and Tamara Travis and Maurio and Simone Parham, will graduate with the Clarksdale High School Class of 2025 on May 31, 2025.

Throughout his high school career, Tyler has distinguished himself as a dedicated student and leader. He is a member of the National Beta Club, the National Technical Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the National Society of High School Scholars. He is also active in the MANNRS (Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences) Association.

Tyler has successfully completed dual enrollment coursework, maintaining a 4.0 GPA at Coahoma Community College and a 3.5 GPA at Mississippi Valley State University. In addition to his academic achievements, he is a proud member of the Clarksdale High School Varsity Baseball Team.

Outside of school, Tyler is an active member of Union Grove M.B. Church, where he serves on the media team.

He plans to attend Alcorn State University in the fall, where he will major in Agribusiness with a minor in Economics.
