Clarksdale, MS – The energy was electric, the blues were soulful, and the community spirit was undeniable at the Victory Blues Bash, a lively celebration in honor of newly elected Mayor Orlando Paden. Residents gathered to recognize Paden’s mayoral win and to enjoy a night filled with music, food, and heartfelt gratitude.

Held in true Delta style, the event featured dynamic performances by two of Clarksdale’s most beloved acts: Edna Nicole and Rev Slim, followed by a show-stopping set from Big A and the All Stars. These artists brought the crowd to life with their powerful vocals and deep-rooted blues rhythms.

Mayor Paden took to the stage to thank the community for their unwavering support.

“It is truly an honor to serve Clarksdale,” Paden said. “I love this city so much, and we’ll be working hard every single day to make Clarksdale a better place for everyone. Thank you for believing in me—and thank you to The Clarksdale Advocate for coming out and supporting this event.”

Guests enjoyed good food, refreshing drinks, and plenty of camaraderie throughout the evening. The celebration wasn’t just about politics—it was about pride in community, culture, and the future of Clarksdale.

One of the evening’s musical highlights was Edna Nicole, a Clarksdale native and proud University of Mississippi graduate. Known for her hit single “Della Dirt,” Edna is also a published author and passionate performer, earning a reputation for her soulful, heartfelt sets. She is the daughter of Brenda Luckett, a respected historian and founder of the North Mississippi Civil Rights Museum.

Closing out the night was Big A and the All Stars, led by Clarksdale’s own Anthony “Big A” Sherrod. The band delivered a powerful performance steeped in traditional blues, embodying the musical roots that define the Delta. Big A, a staple in the local music scene, continues to honor Clarksdale’s musical legacy with every performance.

With a mix of gratitude, celebration, and bluesy joy, the Victory Blues Bash was more than just a party—it was a powerful reminder of what makes Clarksdale a place worth fighting for. Under Mayor Paden’s leadership, residents are looking ahead with optimism, determination, and the rhythm of the Delta in their hearts.
