Clarksdale, MS – The Clarksdale Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. recently hosted the Clarksvegas Greek-NIC, a spirited community gathering that brought together members of the Divine Nine—historically Black fraternities and sororities—for an afternoon of unity, celebration, and purpose.

Held in the heart of Clarksdale, the event was more than just a social gathering—it was a vibrant expression of fellowship, culture, and service. Attendees enjoyed music from the ever-popular DJ Donny P, as well as a variety of food, drinks, and joyful moments shared between old friends and new faces alike.

Representatives from each of the Divine Nine organizations showed up in full support, showcasing the strength and solidarity of Black Greek life in the Mississippi Delta. Among the attendees was Kim Seals, a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., who is also campaigning for State Representative. Her presence underscored the event’s spirit of civic engagement and leadership.

Gerald Johnson, a dedicated member of Kappa Alpha Psi, reflected on the deeper meaning behind the gathering. “I’m glad for this event,” he said. “It’s important for everybody to come together, worship as one, and show the community what we’re really about.”

With a welcoming atmosphere and a focus on unity, the Clarksvegas Greek-NIC served as a powerful reminder of the positive impact that Black Greek-letter organizations continue to have—both within their ranks and throughout the broader community. As the music faded and the sun set on a successful day, it was clear that the bonds of brotherhood, sisterhood, and service are alive and well in Clarksdale.
