Delta Health Alliance Hosts First Back-to-School Drive, Providing Over 100 Supply Bags

Clarksdale, MS – The Delta Health Alliance celebrated a successful milestone with its first annual Back-to-School Drive, distributing more than 100 supply bags to local students. The event was designed to equip children with the tools they need for a strong start to the new school year while also introducing families to the organization’s wide range of community resources.

Located on the Coahoma Community College campus, the Delta Health Alliance serves as a valuable hub for education and wellness. Open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., the program offers educational resources, short-term medical programs, and access to technology.

One of its standout features is the lending library, where students up to 12 years old can check out educational materials. In addition, the facility provides access to butcher paper, letters, and computer usage—ensuring students and families have the supplies and tools they need for learning and creativity.

Under the leadership of Program Director Laura Ramirez and Assistant Takieria Holmes, the Delta Health Alliance continues to strengthen the community through education, health services, and hands-on support. The success of this year’s Back-to-School Drive is just one example of the program’s commitment to helping local families thrive.
