Clarksdale, MS — A new wave of energy, passion, and purpose is lighting up the local dance scene thanks to the Crimson Flamettes, a growing community dance team dedicated to empowering young dancers across the Mississippi Delta.
Founded in May 2025, the Crimson Flamettes are led by Director Jasmine Bodies and Head Coach Naasyra Ervin, both of whom bring a wealth of dance experience and a deep commitment to youth development. The team is open to students in grades K–12, offering opportunities for both experienced dancers and those stepping onto the floor for the very first time.
“We want every child to know they belong here,” the staff shared. “Whether they come in with technique and training or simply a love for movement, there’s a place for them to learn, grow, and shine.”
Despite being a newly formed program, the Crimson Flamettes have already made their mark with standout performances at major community events including:
- Coahoma Community College Homecoming Parade
- Clarksdale High vs. County Alumni Kickball Game
- Coahoma Community College Basketball Game
- Tre Taylor Alumni Basketball Game
Supporters say the team’s spirit and professionalism reflect the strong guidance from former community dancers, high school dance leaders, and alumni of HBCU dance programs.
Next Up: Season Two & Competition Stage
As the Flamettes prepare for their second season, excitement is building, especially with competition season right around the corner. The team aims to represent Clarksdale and surrounding areas with pride, grace, and plenty of fierce choreography.

Parents must be present to register
No tryout fee
Participants are encouraged to arrive on time, bring plenty of water, and come ready to give their all.
With passion, leadership, and a clear mission to uplift young talent, the Crimson Flamettes are quickly becoming a beloved fixture in the community, and they’re just getting started.
