Jackson, MS (June 5, 2023) – The Institute for the Advancement of Minority Health (IAMH) and CLM Healthcare Service Center (CLM-HSC) proudly supports the LGBTQIA+ community by celebrating Pride Month.
On June 1, 2023, Dr. Sandra Carr Melvin, CEO/Founder, Institute for the Advancement of Minority Health and Cordaro L. Mays, CEO, CLM Healthcare Service Center, released joint statements in honor of the Pride Month. Melvin expressed her respect and gratitude towards the LGBTQIA+ community for their outstanding contributions to our nation’s health and wellbeing, while Mays vowed to provide consistent gender-affirming healthcare and assist those targeted due to their gender identity.
Pride is the celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and the LGBTQ+ rights movements. It is dedicated to the self-affirmation, equality, and visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people. Additionally, Pride Month is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community and to promote collaboration towards improving the lives of those in need.
The Institutes for the Advancement of Minority Health and CLM Healthcare Service Center boldly stand with the LGBTQIA+ community in the State of Mississippi and throughout the U.S. Both organizations are fully vested in continuing their work towards ensuring access to care and support for all.
