Clarksdale, MS — The spirit of unity and hope filled the air this past Saturday as Supervisor Darrell Washington, District 3, hosted his Annual Fall Festival and Breast Cancer Awareness Walk at BGM Hopefield, located at 496 Hwy 316 in Jonestown. The event, held on October 18, 2025, drew residents from across Coahoma County for an afternoon of games, food, entertainment, and heartfelt tributes to cancer survivors.

This yearly celebration served as both a fun-filled community gathering and an important reminder of the ongoing fight against breast cancer. Survivors were honored and celebrated for their strength and perseverance, with many sharing words of encouragement and hope. Their stories inspired attendees to continue supporting awareness, early detection, and care for those battling the disease.

The day also featured a special “Pitching for the Cure” baseball game, symbolizing teamwork, strength, and courage. Youth teams competed in co-ed softball tournaments for grades 4th through 8th, while adults took to the field later in the afternoon for a spirited softball showdown — all in honor of the cause.

Visitors enjoyed a variety of festival favorites, including walking tacos, Polish sausages, shaved ice, deep-fried Oreos, and candy apples. Children and families gathered for games and live entertainment, with free admission ensuring everyone in the community could take part.

Supervisor Washington expressed his gratitude for the community’s continued support, saying that the event is about “bringing people together to celebrate life, health, and community while raising awareness for an important cause.

As pink ribbons waved proudly and laughter echoed through the field, the Annual Fall Festival once again proved to be more than an event — it was a celebration of hope, healing, and the unbreakable spirit of Jonestown.
