(Tupelo, Mississippi) – Representatives from Coahoma Community College’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department recently participated in the 2025 Mississippi Workforce, Career, and Technical Summer Conference, from August 4–6 at the Cadence Bank Arena in Tupelo, MS.

This year’s theme, “All Shook Up: Navigating Trends in CTE and Workforce,” sets the tone for a dynamic and forward-thinking gathering focused on current and emerging trends in career and technical education. The annual event is recognized as the only statewide professional development opportunity that brings together CTE educators, leaders, and workforce training professionals from across Mississippi.

Coahoma’s delegation joins participants from all 15 community colleges in the state, including college presidents, CTE deans and directors, workforce staff, instructors, and vice presidents of instruction. The conference is designed to provide attendees with the latest updates on equipment, curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment tools that directly impact the quality of career and technical training across Mississippi.

Dr. Larry Webster, Dean of Career and Technical Education at Coahoma Community College, emphasized the value of the conference for professional development and collaborative learning. “This conference is an essential experience for our team. It allows us to connect with peers from across the state, exchange ideas, and bring back innovative practices that strengthen our programs and, ultimately, our students’ futures,” he said.

The conference features an array of breakout sessions, keynote speakers, and vendor exhibits, offering attendees fresh perspectives and hands-on insight into the ever-evolving landscape of career and workforce education.

Coahoma Community College remains committed to staying on the leading edge of technical and workforce education, and participation in events like this ensures faculty and staff are equipped to meet the needs of both students and employers across the region.
