Clarksdale, Mississippi – The Coahoma County High School (CCHS) Robotics Team, known as the Bionic Panthers #23394, showcased their hard work and dedication at the Mississippi FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) State Championship held at the University of Mississippi on February 21-22, 2025. Competing against 25 teams from across the state, the Bionic Panthers finished in 6th place overall — a remarkable achievement for the team.
Led by Head Coach Sarah Trimm and Assistant Coach Darrius Gates, the team secured four wins out of six alliance qualifying matches, earning them 8th place in the qualification rounds. They advanced to the playoffs as the 5th Alliance Seed, joining forces with Pure Imagination #11279 to form a competitive alliance. Despite their hard-fought efforts, their season came to an end after two intense rounds of double elimination.
The team expressed gratitude to everyone who supported them throughout the season.
“This year’s journey was truly out of this world, and we wouldn’t trade it for anything,” the team shared.

Timothy Seely, Chester Hollins, Patience Masby, Gabby Smith, Tarneusha Masby, Kevin Matthews, Miracle Smith, Layla Burnside, and Jakarta Smith.
With a talented group of students and unwavering community support, the Bionic Panthers are already looking forward to returning bigger and better for next season.
