Clarksdale, Mississippi – The City of Clarksdale is proud to announce the official naming of a
downtown street in honor of Grammy-nominated, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and cultural icon
Rick Ross. The dedication of “Rick Ross Way” will take place on Thursday, June 19, 2025,
at 12:30 p.m. in front of Wing Stop, located at 300 Issaquena Avenue, Clarksdale, MS.
Rick Ross has deep roots in Clarksdale through his family heritage and frequent visits to the city.
Known globally for his commanding voice and lyrical talent, Ross has made a powerful impact
on both the music industry and business world. With multiple platinum albums, chart-topping
hits, and a record label – Maybach Music Group — under his belt, he has also become a
successful entrepreneur, including as a franchise owner of several Wing Stop locations across the
South, including Clarksdale.
Clarksdale leaders and community members will gather to celebrate Ross’ contributions and
recognize the positive light he has brought to his ancestral hometown. The street naming marks a
historic moment for Clarksdale, honoring a native son who continues to inspire through art,
culture, and enterprise.
The public is invited to attend the unveiling and join the community in this momentous
celebration.
