Clarksdale, Mississippi – In a heartwarming and inspiring ceremony, Friars Point Elementary School welcomed its new Beta Club members, marking the school’s second year with the prestigious national club. The induction event celebrated the students’ dedication to the Beta Club principles, which center around leadership, character, and academic achievement.
The ceremony opened with an introduction by Beta Club Sponsor, Traklia Whitehead, who presented the returning and new Beta Club members. The students watched an inspirational video message from the Beta Club’s founder, which set the stage for the importance of their commitment to the club’s values.
Marki Harris and Caiden Givens then shared the mission of the Beta Club, emphasizing the club’s focus on developing leaders who strive for excellence in all areas of life. Following their presentation, eight members proudly recited the Beta Club’s eight principles, each embodying the club’s dedication to service, scholarship, and citizenship.
The ceremony continued with a certificate and pinning presentation, led by Friars Point Elementary School Principal Ms. Chiquita Phillips and Lead Teacher Jonnetta Williams. Each new member received a certificate and pin, a symbolic reminder of their pledge to uphold the Beta Club’s ideals. After receiving their pins, the students recited the official Beta Club Pledge, vowing to contribute positively to their school and community.
The club’s new president, Aveyon Smith, was formally introduced, and the newly inducted members collectively took the Beta Club Oath, marking their full induction into the club. Principal Phillips offered closing remarks, congratulating the students on their achievements and encouraging them to embody the Beta Club values in their everyday lives.
With 19 members, the Friars Point Elementary Beta Club is now in its second year, building a legacy of academic excellence and leadership within the school. The ceremony was a proud moment for the students, families, and educators alike, celebrating the promise of the future leaders of Clarksdale.
