(Clarksdale, Mississippi) – Coahoma Community College has been awarded to USA TODAY’s inaugural list of America’s Top Vocational Schools 2025. The award list was announced on July 22nd, 2025, and can currently be viewed on the USA TODAY’s website.
The ranking of the best schools offering vocational training via undergraduate certificate or diploma is based on an analysis of five Key Performance Indicators. The five dimensions evaluated during USA TODAY research were: Graduation Rate, Graduate Salary, Years to Pay Off Net Price, Social Mobility, and Diversity. Data on the schools’ performance was collected through publicly available sources like IPEDS and College Scorecard.
Coahoma work closely with industry partners to ensure their curriculum meets the current workforce demands. This alignment allows students to graduate with relevant, high-demand skills that translate directly into employment opportunities, often without the burden of long-term student debt.
All schools were benchmarked against one another using the final score. Based on the results of the study, Coahoma Community College has been recognized as one of America’s Top Vocational Schools 2025. This award serves to reinforce our institution’s unwavering commitment to excellence in hands-on education, career readiness, and workforce development.
“This national recognition reflects the hard work of our faculty, staff, and students who remain committed to career-focused excellence,” said Dr. Valmadge Towner, President of Coahoma Community College. “We are proud to serve as a leading institution where students can gain real-world skills that lead directly to rewarding careers.”
“This prestigious award highlights the college’s dedication to delivering high-quality workforce development training and fostering student success,” said Dr. Larry Webster, Dean of Career and Technical Education. “Such recognition underscores Coahoma Community College’s commitment to preparing students for meaningful careers and making a positive impact across the five counties we serve. So with that, I say job well done to our students, faculty, staff, and industry partners.”
