Jackson, MS (March 8, 2023) – The Institute for the Advancement of Minority Health is offering Community Health Worker training.
The training is virtual. Access to a laptop, tablet or desktop computer is required. Participants who complete all classes and the assigned activity will receive a Certificate of Completion. The training will be facilitated by Jackie Hawkins, Delta Community Solutions, LLC. The registration fee is $35 per person and $30 for groups of three or more. The primary role of Community Health Workers is to provide connections between the local populations and public health resource agencies. During the Community Health Worker training, participants will receive the knowledge and skills needed to work in various areas of public health within their community.

The Institute for the Advancement of Minority Health was established in 2019 to reduce health disparities among disadvantaged and underserved minority populations in the Mississippi through the development of collaborative partnerships with community stakeholders and the implementation of evidence-based public health interventions with a particular focus on health equity.
