Clarksdale, MS – At the heart of the Mississippi Delta, Delta Connection Consortium, Inc. is transforming lives through opportunity, education, and empowerment. This dynamic nonprofit organization is devoted to helping individuals, particularly youth, chart successful career paths and become self-sufficient, productive citizens.

Under the leadership of Program Director Dr. Juanita Seals-Jones, the organization offers a robust menu of free services and training programs designed to meet the needs of today’s young adults. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, the initiative supports 150 participants between the ages of 14 and 24, providing them with tools to succeed academically, professionally, and personally.

Participants can pursue high school diploma completion, job readiness and life skills training, vocational certifications, paid internships, work experience, and hands-on driver’s education. The program also provides essential support in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, mentorship, counseling, transportation, and reentry assistance.

In partnership with Coahoma Community College’s Vocational Department, Delta Connection Consortium prepares youth for a variety of high-demand fields including carpentry and construction, warehouse distribution, retail sales, tourism careers, and networking. One unique opportunity includes a partnership with a Louisiana-based casket company, allowing students to construct baby and pet caskets and receive compensation for their work.

The program is structured to provide:

  1. Academic and vocational planning
  2. Life and leadership skills
  3. Mentorship and goal-setting support
  4. Mental and emotional health resources
  5. Career and college readiness activities
  6. Connections to post-secondary education

By combining education, training, and personal development, Delta Connection Consortium, Inc. is not just helping youth find jobs—it’s helping them build futures. For the young people of Clarksdale, this isn’t just a program—it’s a life-changing opportunity.
