Clarksdale, MS – On July 27th, EMG Opportunities LLC hosted its Back-to-School College Edition event at the Student Union of Coahoma Community College. This initiative, spearheaded by Sherica Griffin, is proof of the company’s dedication to supporting the young adult community and honoring the legacy of Griffin’s mother, Emma Griffin.
Sherica Griffin, who founded EMG Opportunities LLC in January 2024, shared the inspiration behind the event. “Today’s goal was to reach our young adult community and show them that we support them too,” she explained. Griffin, whose mother, Emma Griffin, was a profound source of inspiration, named the company in her honor. Emma Griffin’s values of support and community service form the bedrock of the organization.
The Back-to-School College Edition was designed with a special focus on college students preparing for the upcoming academic year. Recognizing the challenges faced by single parents sending their children off to school, Griffin emphasized the importance of this effort. “It’s hard being a parent sending your kid off to school, especially if you’re single,” she noted.

Sherica Griffin, who fondly referred to her grandmother as “Mom,” explained that this dedication to helping others is a legacy she is proud to continue. “My grandma believed in supporting others, and I thought I’d carry on her legacy by doing what she loved,” Griffin said.
