Clarksdale, Mississippi – On June 1, 2024, Boss Lady 4 Kids will officially open its doors to offer free items to children. Located at 3786 Highway 61, Cleveland, MS 38732, this unique initiative aims to empower children in the Delta region to serve others.

Boss Lady 4 Kids is set to become the first store of its kind in Mississippi. Children will be able to pick out shoes, clothes, decorations, electronics, and more—all at no cost.

In addition to receiving free items of their choice, children who visit the store will also be able to select a free item to give to someone they choose. Parents are not allowed in the store, encouraging children to think and learn independently. However, parents can be recipients of the gifts chosen by their children. This project aims to teach kids the values of giving, serving, and practicing generosity.

Dr. Chatman, Executive Director of Boss Lady Workforce Training, shared the inspiration behind this project: “I see the needs of people from both spectrums. With bullying, poverty, and crime as common as they are, we want to give kids a foundation where they can come and be leaders. It’s a platform where they can be independent, and we can teach them about service.”

Unlike thrift stores that offer discounted used items, Boss Lady 4 Kids will provide all new items at no cost. This initiative is made possible through collaboration with partners, notably 4 Good Community, a nonprofit organization based in Indiana and Illinois, as well as a few private partners.

“I’ve been giving for over a decade, providing resources to the Delta,” said Dr. Chatman. “We want to serve the people of the Mississippi Delta. This organization has been a servant to the economic sector of the Delta. With this latest endeavor, young people are empowered to learn the value of service.”

This project aims to nurture the minds and spirits of children in the Delta, making an invaluable contribution to the community.
