Clarksdale, Mississippi — Dwight Brown officially introduced his new food trailer, Gourmet Blaze, to the community with a lively grand opening celebration Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of Century Funeral Home. The event featured music, games, and plenty of mouthwatering food, drawing friends, family, and local residents eager to taste Brown’s signature dishes.
Gourmet Blaze is a mobile food trailer that travels to different communities, serving up a flavorful menu that includes smoked brisket, smoked quesadillas, chicken tacos, asparagus, broccoli, and other specialty cuisine.
“We just got into a cooking thing,” Brown said. “It started off kinda small, then eventually people started giving me compliments about my food, so I decided to make something out of it.”
For Brown, opening in Clarksdale was a personal choice. “I feel like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz—there’s no place like home,” he shared. “So it’s home for my wife, and we decided the best place to start is here in Clarksdale.”
Brown also expressed gratitude to former Mayor Chuck Espy for allowing him to use the property for the event. “I’d like to thank Chuck Espy and his family for letting me be here,” he said.
Among the day’s most popular menu items were the smoked chicken dip, quesadillas, and brisket, which Brown said received rave reviews from customers.
Gourmet Blaze can be found on X, Facebook, and TikTok, or by email at gourmetblaze7@gmail.com.
With strong community support and a growing fan base, Brown is looking forward to bringing his flavorful creations to more neighborhoods in the future.
