Caitlin Hall may only be a sophomore at Clarksdale High School, but she has already earned some of the top basketball recognitions in the state. Hall, a power forward and center at 6 feet, 3 inches, 215 pounds, was named to the Class 4A All-State Third Team for girls’ basketball. She finished the past season averaging a double-double at 14.4 points, more than 10 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 2 steals per game with the Lady Wildcats (24-3, 8-0) winning the Region 3-4A District Championship and advancing to the second round of the playoffs.

“It’s a big accomplishment and I know I can do more,” Hall said. “It’s just exciting.” Lady Wildcats coach Greg Wilson praised Hall’s efforts. “Congratulations on making All-State,” Wilson said. “I think it’s an honor we’ll-deserved. She really worked hard.”

Hall has been playing basketball since she was 6 years old. She has been part of the Mississippi Delta Elite AAU program during the offseason and played for WA Higgins Middle School before coming to Clarksdale High School. Hall plans to keep improving her game. “Some of my goals are to be able to put the ball in the goal more and increase my average on points and rebounds,” said Hall, adding that she hopes to average at least 20 points and 12 rebounds per game next season.

Hall, a left fielder, has played softball, but she is only on the basketball team at Clarksdale High School. Her goal is to play college basketball, and potential schools include the University of Tennessee, South Carolina, Ole Miss, and Connecticut. Hall said she would like to work in the medical field, possibly as a nurse, after completing her basketball career. Her most recent high school GPA was 4.3; she knows how to balance her time as a student/athlete. “Make sure you pay attention because after school you’re more likely going to be working on your craft and practicing,” she said.
