Clarksdale, Mississippi – The Iota Omicron Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, established in 1948, continues its mission of community service with its annual Toy Drive, spreading Christmas cheer to underprivileged children in Clarksdale. Guided by their biblical foundation, the chapter embraces the belief that it is better to give than to receive, making the holiday season the perfect time to share blessings with those in need.

For the past six years, the chapter has organized the Toy Drive, ensuring children in the community experience the joy of the season. Although the event faced challenges in 2020 due to COVID-19, it has consistently achieved strong participation and meaningful impact. This year, the fraternity aims to expand its reach by serving multiple locations and spreading awareness about the initiative early.

Donations come from individuals and partnerships with organizations like Coahoma County Caliber Bank and the Diaper Bank. Together, they ensure toys are distributed to families in need. Members of the fraternity personally assist in the process, showing their deep dedication to the children they serve. “We love the kids and will do whatever it takes to put a smile on their faces,” a representative shared.

Beyond the Toy Drive, the Iota Omicron Chapter continues to give back to the community with additional projects. Their upcoming “Sock It Drive” will provide socks to underprivileged individuals, and a Valentine’s Day gift basket giveaway will offer two baskets—each valued at $200—to a man and a woman in the community.

The chapter also focuses on education by hosting fundraisers for scholarships to support local students. Most recently, they inducted nine new members who joined in the effort to make the Toy Drive a success, further strengthening the chapter’s commitment to service.

The Iota Omicron Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity remains dedicated to making a positive impact on the community, especially for children who need it most. Their Toy Drive is more than just a holiday event—it is a reflection of their love for giving and their desire to brighten lives.
