Clarksdale, MS — Clarksdale, MS — From the heart of the Mississippi Delta to the bright lights of Carnegie Hall and the national spotlight in Washington, D.C., Kendal Moseley is proving that passion, talent, and dedication can take you far.
Born and raised in Clarksdale, Kendal is the daughter of Ruby Jackson and a shining reflection of the city’s creative spirit. She began her educational journey at W.A. Higgins Middle School, where her love for the arts took root and continued to grow throughout her youth.
Her passion eventually led her to Brookhaven, Mississippi, where she attended the prestigious Mississippi School of the Arts, a residential high school for artistically gifted students. There, she further refined her talents and prepared for a future centered around the arts.
Now a freshman at Northwest Mississippi Community College, Kendal is majoring in music and recently shined in the college’s spring production of Little Shop of Horrors, playing the role of Crystal. Her talents continue to soar as she prepares for an unforgettable trip to New York City, where she will perform with the NWCC Ranger Choral Choir at the iconic Carnegie Hall from May 29 to June 2.
Kendal’s pageant journey is equally remarkable. The 2023 Miss Black Mississippi State Pageant was her very first competition—and she won. This year, she proudly holds the title of Miss Black Mississippi Talented Teen and is preparing to represent the state on the national stage at the Miss Black USA Talented Teen Pageant in Washington, D.C., from July 29 to August 4.
Her platform, Art Angels for Art Education, is devoted to promoting the value of arts education in schools. Kendal travels across Mississippi sharing the transformative power of creative expression, hoping to uplift and inspire the next generation of young artists.
As she gets ready to represent Mississippi on a national level, Kendal is actively seeking sponsors to help cover pageant-related expenses. Anyone interested in supporting her journey can visit her official Facebook page for donation information.
Kendal Moseley is a shining example of what happens when talent meets opportunity—and she’s only just getting started.
