Clarksdale, Mississippi– On Wednesday, November 6, 2025, Magnolia Health hosted a Free Health and Community Resource Fair at Northwest Regional Medical Center in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., more than one hundred community members participated in the fair, which featured a variety of health screenings, essential resources, and educational activities.
Attendees received free liver scans, blood pressure checks, blood glucose readings, and enjoyed a healthy cooking demonstration with celebrity chef Doreen Colondres. The event also provided opportunities for participants to connect with organizations offering health, food, and medical services to Mississippians.
The success of the event was due to the collaborative efforts of Novo Nordisk, Magnolia Health Plan, and numerous community partners, including Ambetter Health, Aaron E. Henry Clinic, Clarksdale Care Station, Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi, Echosens FibroScan, Mississippi Department of Health, Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center, Partnership for a Healthier America, The Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi, The Diaper Bank of the Delta, WellCare, and others.
Magnolia Health Plan, a Mississippi-based subsidiary of Centene Corporation, provides Medicaid and Affordable Care Act coverage through its Ambetter plans. The company’s mission is to improve community health by offering accessible, affordable care to individuals and families across the state.
Mary Anna McDonnieal, Senior Director of Marketing and Communications for Magnolia Health, emphasized why events like these are vital to the communities they serve.
“Ultimately, our mission is to get healthcare coverage and opportunities to some of the most vulnerable populations in America,” McDonnieal said. “We do the best we can to reach people where they worship, where they work, where they eat, and where they live.”
Events like this bring essential services directly to the people—highlighting both the importance of individual involvement in maintaining personal health and the continued dedication of organizations championing healthcare accessibility throughout the Delta.
