Clarksdale, Mississippi – On May 17, 2024, the Crossroads Economic Partnership officially announced that a new factory for Connor Industries is underway in Coahoma County. This project will bring new jobs to the Delta and attract more business. The building will be located on the levee near what is currently acres of bean fields north of Friars Point.

Connor Industries is known worldwide for its custom welded aluminum boats. During the ceremony, Jon Levingston recognized many individuals who advocated for the county to receive the bid for such a top-tier company, including Nancy and John McGee, Dana White, and the late Ken Murphy.

The project has received upwards of $4 million in grants from various agencies, most notably the Delta Regional Authority. Bill Connor, CEO of Connor Industries, stated that the facility will cover approximately 48,000 square feet and will also require the construction of a road for the facility. They plan to have more than 56 employees.

This project exemplifies collective effort, positive outlook, and intentionality with resources. This step forward will contribute favorably to the economies of Coahoma County and the surrounding area.
