Clarksdale, Mississippi — Coahoma County residents are invited to a “Meet the Candidates” event ahead of the upcoming Special Election for State House of Representatives, District 26. The public forum will take place on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Coahoma County Courthouse.
This important civic event offers voters an opportunity to hear directly from the three candidates seeking to represent District 26 in the Mississippi State Legislature: Mary Frances Dear-Moton, Kimberlyn “Kim” C. Seals, and Otha E. Williams, III. Each candidate will have a chance to share their platforms, discuss key community issues, and engage with residents about their priorities for the district’s future.
The forum aims to encourage informed voting and community engagement as Coahoma County prepares for the special election. Attendees will have the opportunity to listen, ask questions, and better understand each candidate’s stance on matters that affect families, businesses, and local development.
This event is sponsored by the Iota Delta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and its Social Justice Committee, continuing the organization’s mission of fostering civic responsibility and voter education within the community.
Residents are encouraged to attend and take part in this democratic process. Every voice and every vote counts in shaping the leadership and direction of District 26.
