Clarksdale, Mississippi – This year marked the 7th Annual Milestone Turkey Giveaway, a cherished tradition that continues to bring joy and hope to the community of Friars Point and beyond. The event, spearheaded by Tamera-Moore Wade, MSW CMHT, and her dedicated team, ensured that families in need could enjoy a hearty Thanksgiving meal.
Held in the heart of Friars Point, the giveaway saw volunteers working tirelessly to distribute turkeys to residents. Among those lending a helping hand were Friars Point Mayor Ralph Scott and Carl Hinton, the School Resource Officer (SRO) at Clarksdale High School. Their presence underscored the event’s spirit of community and collaboration.
“This is our way of blessing the community, especially those who might not have much of a Thanksgiving,” said Moore-Wade. She emphasized the importance of giving back and fostering a sense of togetherness during the holiday season.
As turkeys were handed out, the gratitude and smiles of the recipients were a testament to the impact of this annual initiative. Milestone expressed its deep appreciation to everyone who attended and contributed to making the event a success.
In its seventh year, the Milestone Turkey Giveaway has become a beacon of hope and compassion, embodying the true meaning of Thanksgiving. As Moore Wade and her team look ahead, they remain committed to strengthening the bonds of the community and ensuring that no family goes without during the holiday season.
