Clarksdale, Mississippi– Voters across the Mississippi Delta cast their ballots in Tuesday’s Special General Election, producing decisive outcomes in two key races—State Senate District 11 and State House District 26.
Reginald Jackson Wins State Senate District 11
In the State Senate District 11 race, Reginald Jackson emerged as the unofficial winner, earning 4,643 total votes over opponent Kendall Prewett, who received 2,257.
A county-by-county breakdown showed Jackson’s strong performance across multiple areas, particularly in Coahoma, Quitman, and Tunica counties. With a total of 4,643 votes to Prewett’s 2,257, Jackson is projected as the unofficial winner for State Senate District 11.
Otha E. Williams, III Victorious in State House District 26
In another closely watched race, Otha E. Williams, III captured the State House of Representatives District 26 seat, earning a total of 1,330 votes.
His challengers, Kimberlyn “Kim” Seals and Dr. Mary Frances Dear-Moton, received 837 and 343 votes, respectively. With solid support in Coahoma County, Williams’s total of 1,330 votes placed him ahead of his opponents, making him the unofficial winner of the District 26 seat.
These results remain unofficial pending certification by election officials. However, both victories reflect strong local support for Jackson and Williams across the Delta region.
