Clarksdale, Mississippi – In a powerful testament to perseverance, faith, and community, New Beginning Church recently celebrated a mortgage burning ceremony, signifying the full payment of its church building’s mortgage in a remarkable 19 years instead of the planned 20. The ceremony marked the realization of a vision originally set by the church’s first pastor, Eddie Williams, who felt led by God to purchase the building and outlined a 20-year plan for its complete payoff.

The journey to this celebration began in October 2006 when the church committee united with a mission to establish a permanent place of worship. The following month, in November 2006, New Beginning Church moved into a larger church building, previously occupied by Real Faith Church. Pastor Williams’ commitment to this new home and his unwavering faith laid the foundation for what would become an enduring legacy.

Unfortunately, Pastor Williams passed away years later, leaving behind a congregation deeply influenced by his vision. After his passing, Pastor Alan Blake took on the mantle of leadership, continuing the journey with the same dedication and passion that Pastor Williams had envisioned. Pastor Blake’s guidance proved instrumental in bringing the church to this pivotal moment.

During the ceremony, attendees held a solemn moment of silence to honor members who have passed, a tribute to the individuals who dedicated their lives to supporting the church’s mission and journey. Their contributions, faith, and memory live on through the accomplishments celebrated today.

Pastor Blake expressed gratitude to the congregation and all who contributed to paying off the mortgage, underscoring the importance of community, resilience, and shared faith in making the achievement possible. The mortgage burning not only marked financial freedom for the church but symbolized a renewal of purpose and a commitment to continue serving the community with the spirit of unity and faith that brought them to this day.
