Clarksdale, Mississippi– Meet Anaya Wardlow, a remarkable 17-year-old senior at Madison S. Palmer High School in Marks, Mississippi. A proud resident of Sledge, Anaya is known for her leadership, dedication, and heart for service.
Anaya is an active member of the National Beta Club and FCCLA, organizations that allow her to grow academically and socially while demonstrating her commitment to excellence. Beyond the classroom, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and takes pride in being a loving big sister to her three younger siblings.
Faith is central to Anaya’s life. She attends Mount Olive Baptist Church in Batesville, under the leadership of Pastor Battle, and New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ in Drew, Mississippi, led by Dr. Sylvester Cannon. At New Jerusalem, she serves faithfully in the kitchen ministry, reflecting her willingness to give back and serve others.
On Saturdays, Anaya works security at Ole Miss, a role she values for the opportunity to meet new people and gain real-world experience that will benefit her in the future.
Her hard work, determination, and commitment to service have earned her the prestigious Bonnie D. Willis Purple Promise Scholarship. This honor recognizes Anaya’s character, leadership, and promise for the future—a shining testament to the bright path ahead of her.
