Clarksdale, Mississippi – Skimke’s Smokin Grill recently hosted its 8th Annual School Supply Drive, bringing joy and much-needed resources to local children as they prepare for the new school year.
“This is our 8th year doing the drive, and it’s a pleasure to see a smile on the kids’ faces,” organizers shared.
The event was made possible through the support of several sponsors, including Star of Bethlehem #57, J. Dobbins Council #9, Have Court #9, Goodwill Lodge #121, Truth #571 Sunbeams, and Skimke’s Smokin Grill. Their collective efforts ensured the success of this year’s drive.
Last year, the initiative supported 150 children. This year, the impact grew even larger with 200 backpacks filled with school supplies distributed to students in need.
The day was filled with fun and community spirit. Families enjoyed food, drinks, and snacks, while parents and children alike were entered into door prize giveaways. Bouncy houses kept the kids entertained, and special guest DJ Flame kept the energy high with music throughout the event.
Adding to the day’s activities, AT&T Manager Shainalkia was also on-site to provide information and answer questions about quality phone services.
Organizers expressed their gratitude to the community and sponsors, emphasizing their commitment to keeping this tradition alive. “We look to continue to do this drive every year,” they said, reinforcing their dedication to supporting local families.
