Jeremy’s journey into the world of food began in his childhood home, where his mother, Ms. Hazel Williams Smith, would lovingly prepare full-course meals for her large family and extended relatives. Surrounded by the aromas of soulful cooking, Jeremy’s interest in culinary arts was sparked at an early age, evolving from a hobby into a passion.
As economic challenges loomed with the recession, Jeremy turned to catering to make ends meet. He didn’t just stop there; he extended his services to host fundraisers for local causes, such as the pee-wee football team Little Wildcats, where he also served as part of the coaching staff. From student events to political gatherings, Jeremy and his team catered to a diverse array of occasions, earning a reputation for excellent customer service and delicious food.
Officially established on July 11, 2015, Wicked Wings and Things has since become a cornerstone of the Clarksdale culinary scene. In June 2020, Jeremy expanded his operations with the purchase of a food truck, allowing him to bring his delectable offerings directly to the people. With the motto “Bringing the Delta to you,” Jeremy’s goal is to share the flavors of his region far and wide.
Among the standout items on the menu are Jeremy’s famous Signature Wicked Wings, featuring his special Wicked Sauce and homemade “Hooked” seasoning. Other favorites include the Delta Boy Polish (fully loaded polish) and The Wicked Pit (Rib Tip Dish), all crafted with love and care.
