Clarksdale, Ms. — Clarksdale just got a little hotter with the official ribbon cutting of The MatchBox, a brand-new entertainment spot located at 311 Delta Ave. On Thursday, April 4th, owner Wyoman Thomas celebrated the grand opening in true Delta style—with signature drinks, good food, and nonstop music.
The festivities began at 5 p.m. with the official ribbon cutting, followed by a high-energy live performance from the one and only Memphis Mojo. But the party didn’t stop there—The MatchBox kept the momentum going with a DJ spinning hits all night long, turning the night into a full-blown celebration.
And the excitement continues all week as The MatchBox becomes a key stop during the 2025 Juke Joint Festival. The live music lineup is stacked with talent:
- Thursday, April 10th: Lady Trucker kicks things off.
- Friday, April 11th: Bird Williams keeps the groove alive.
- Saturday, April 12th: Back-to-back performances from Phillip Carter and Keith Johnson will close out the weekend with unforgettable vibes.
