Clarksdale, MS – Higher Purpose Company (HPC) is thrilled to announce the return of its third annual Higher Purpose Fest, an event dedicated to celebrating the cultural richness of the Mississippi Delta.

This year, on Saturday, November 2, 2024, the festival will feature the renowned Coahoma Community College Choir as one of the marquee performances. Known for their exceptional musical range and soulful energy, the CCC Choir will open the festival’s gospel lineup, setting the stage for a day of powerful music, inspiration, and community spirit.

The Coahoma Community College Choir has gained significant recognition as an ambassador of both the college and the Delta region, representing the cultural legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) through gospel and choral music. Dr. Tim Lampkin, CEO of Higher Purpose Company stated, “Their performances have reached national and international audiences, and we wanted our community to experience their remarkable talent firsthand. Their inclusion emphasizes the spirit of our HBCUs and allows festival goers to experience the Delta’s musical excellence up close.”

Dr. Kelvin Towers, Fine Arts Chair and Director of Choir Activities at Coahoma Community College, shared his pride in the choir’s selection, stating, “The opportunity for our students to be part of Higher Purpose Fest is truly special. They not only get to share their love of gospel music with our community but also celebrate the Delta’s legacy of artistic excellence. It’s a privilege to be part of such an inspiring lineup and to represent Coahoma at this meaningful event.”

Higher Purpose Fest was conceived by HPC in 2022 to showcase the unique and vibrant culture of the Delta while providing a platform for local talent and intergenerational engagement. Since its founding, the festival has grown tremendously—from hosting just over 125 attendees in its first year to an anticipated crowd of 1,500–2,500 this year. The event celebrates the pillars of music, food, and wellness, with the Coahoma Community College Choir providing a moving start to the festival’s musical lineup.
