(Clarksdale, Mississippi) – The Alpha Omicron Pi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society is thrilled to announce its participation in the Mississippi/Louisiana Regional Honor’s Institute. This year’s event, themed “The Power of Stories,” will take place from June 12-15, 2024, at the Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, MS.
The Mississippi/Louisiana Regional Honor’s Institute is one of several annual meetings and events hosted by each PTK region, including regional conventions, honors in action conferences, and advisor and officer training. These gatherings provide an invaluable opportunity for chapters to network with neighboring chapters, engage with PTK programs beyond their college campus, and minimize travel and costs.
The event begins with check-in and a dinner for Faculty Scholars on Wednesday. Thursday includes training sessions for Faculty Scholars, conference registration, and an evening of welcome remarks, dinner, and seminar sessions. Friday features a college fair, general sessions with speakers, group discussions, and city tours. The event concludes on Saturday with a brunch, a final speaker session, and closing comments.
Participants will have the chance to engage in a variety of educational and networking activities, including small group discussions and speaker sessions with notable figures in education. This institute is an excellent platform for members to deepen their understanding of PTK’s mission and develop their leadership skills.
Following the enriching experience at the Mississippi/Louisiana Regional Honor’s Institute, the chapter looks forward to further engagement at the MS/LA Leadership Conference on September 5-6, 2024.
The Alpha Omicron Pi chapter is enthusiastic about this opportunity to connect with fellow PTK members, share experiences, and bring back newfound insights to their institutions.
