Clarksdale, Ms – Coahoma Community College hosts their annual faculty and staff convocation to formally commemorate the Spring 2024 semester on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 in the Pinnacle.

This event allows new employees to be introduced to the college and allows faculty and staff to go through professional development sessions.

Sean J. Glassberg served as the guest speaker for the occasion. Glassberg has nearly thirty years of academic and professional experiences, ranging from teaching English and serving as a Director of Faculty Development and Instructional Designer at community and technical colleges and universities to training industry and technical professionals to become educators. He now serves as an Instructional Designer for Phoenix College in the Maricopa County Community College System and teaches English at The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina.

During the first session Glassberg introduced his presentation of “Improving Communication with the MillennialZ.” This session was very active for faculty and staff and it opened the doors for communicating with one another. This also allowed faculty and staff to work on their communication skills with the students in today’s generation. Faculty & staff learned how to meet students on their level through hands-on activities and real-life experiences.

In the final session of the day, Glassberg presented a presentation of “EPIC Goals to Prepare Graduates to Communicate in the Workforce.” During this session faculty and staff learned about how to continue to prepare students for the working world after graduating.
