Clarksdale, Mississippi will receive a $50,000 grant from T-Mobile to revitalize the area in front of J’s Grocery in Clarksdale with a mural, outdoor furniture, bike racks, sunshades, planters, life-size games, pedestrian safety modifications. The grant will also go towards creating an activation space to support healthy food purchases while fostering community connections and creative expression.

A special event and check presentation will be held on Tuesday, September 25 from 10:30-11:30 am at 103 Madison Ave, Clarksdale, MS 38614.

Clarksdale is the 11th city and town in Mississippi to be awarded a T-Mobile Hometown Grants since the program launched in 2021. The other towns which include Oxford, Greenville, Magee, Hattiesburg, and Greenville have received grants in total of more than $445,000. Hometown Grants is T-Mobile’s way of giving people who live in small towns and rural communities a chance to transform the places they call home. Through community development initiatives across infrastructure, education, technology, environment and more, T-Mobile aims to create a stronger and more resilient future for communities nationwide.
