Clarksdale, Mississippi – The P-16 Community Engagement Council (CEC) guidelines in the state of Mississippi encourage school districts to create high-quality, accessible schools for all children, regardless of race, ethnicity, class, gender, disability, or status. These guidelines emphasize the importance of meaningful participation from parents, students, and other community members in shaping and implementing policies at both the district and school levels.

Under the leadership of Dr. Toya Harrell-Matthews, the Clarksdale Municipal School District (CMSD) has risen to the challenge. In partnership with the CEC, CMSD is committed to transforming the district into a first-rate educational system.

The public is invited to attend CEC meetings in person or join via Facebook, where meetings are live-streamed in real time. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 14, at 5:30 p.m. at the district’s central office, located at 526 S. Choctaw Avenue.
