Clarksdale, Mississippi – Andreakeia Boyd, a native of Clarksdale who relocated in 2016, is stepping up to support her hometown in a big way. An alumna of Clarksdale High School, Boyd graduated in 2012 and went on to attend Hinds Community College and the University of Memphis. A proud member of Zeta Amicae, Boyd has established herself as both an educator in Tennessee and an entrepreneur with a small electronics business.

Reflecting on her journey, Boyd emphasizes the importance of being teachable and disciplined. “I had to learn to be taught and follow before I was able to lead. My journey is not complete. Anyone wanting to pursue any dream must have the discipline to remain focused and always be teachable. There were times I took breaks, but I didn’t break too long. It is never too late to have success!” she shares.

Boyd is the founder and CEO of TEKandBeyond, a company providing IT services such as repairs, IT sales, support, data recovery, custom builds, and debugging. Before formalizing her business, Boyd was already repairing and reselling electronics. She enjoys coding and programming in her spare time and finds mental challenges like Sudoku and the Rubik’s Cube to be enjoyable brain blasters. Realizing her passion could also be a means to give back to the community, Boyd volunteers at shelters in Memphis and participates in various outreach programs.

In her latest endeavor, Boyd is spearheading a back-to-school giveaway to offer a helping hand to parents and children in Clarksdale. “I understand that times are hard and I am going to be someone that helps in any way that I can. I chose to give back to my community this time because Clarksdale needs more uplifting advocates. We have great leaders who are currently doing a great job, and I intend on being among them,” Boyd says.

Partnering with Ready To Read, a non-profit organization based in Clarksdale, Boyd’s initiative will provide school supplies to over 100 children on a first-come, first-served basis. The giveaway event is scheduled for July 27th, 2024, starting at 10 a.m. and will continue until all supplies are distributed.

In addition to the school supplies, Boyd will also donate two laptops randomly to students and another two to students who contact her with their success plans for the upcoming school year. Winners will be selected randomly and announced on July 26th, 2024, via her website at www.tekandbeyond.com and social media channels, @TEKandBeyond on Facebook and @ReadyToRead Marsha Williams- Ready to Read (Founder, CEO) page.

Boyd’s back-to-school giveaway is a testament to her commitment to education and community service. By providing essential supplies and resources, she is helping to empower the next generation of students in Clarksdale, ensuring they start the school year on the right foot.
