Approximately 20 employers will be at Coahoma County’s Job Fair & Career Expo from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday at the Expo Center.
AT&T, Cooper Tire/Goodyear, Coahoma County School District, the Clarksdale Municipal School District, the Aaron E. Henry Community Health Center, Coahoma Opportunities Inc., Regions Bank, Gold Strike Casino, Isle of Capri Casino, C Spire, Clarksdale Public Utilities, the Clarksdale Police Department, the Coahoma County Sheriff’s Department, Bolivar Medical Center, the Win Job Center, Coahoma Community College, I-Staffing-Services, Northwest Regional Medical Center, and Delta Health Alliance are all scheduled to be at the job fair and career expo. Other employers may attend.
CCC will also be recruiting students during the event.
County Administrator Kim Seals said door prizes will be given away and encouraged community participation.
“People should come because the Coahoma County Board of Supervisors is putting on this countywide job fair as we’ve had a lot of citizens say there are no jobs here in Clarksdale,” she said. “We are showing them that there are jobs here, so if you are honestly actively looking and would like to get back into the workforce or are looking for a change in career venues, we are going to provide that for you.
“That’s the reason I think people should come, to show that Clarksdale is progressing, and we do have jobs for our citizens.”
