Jackson, MS (August 9, 2023) – Recently re-elected MS State Senator Hillman Frazier attended the inaugural Black Men’s Health Conference sponsored by the Institute for the Advancement of Minority Health’s Black Men’s Health Equity Council.
Held Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Tougaloo College, the gathering allowed various generations of Black men to identify strategies to reduce disparities in health, economics, and social justice. Charles Taylor, executive director, MS NAACP, and Dr. Justin Turner, chief medical officer, MS Department of Health, were conference keynote speakers. Taylor addressed Modern Day Slavery: Black Men and Mass Incarceration. Turner’s topic was Advocating for Black Men’s Health in Mississippi.
