Clarksdale, Mississippi – The Clarksdale Fire Department is proud to announce the retirement of Fire Chief Rocky Nabors. With a remarkable 32 years of dedicated service, Chief Nabors has been an integral part of our community, demonstrating unwavering commitment and leadership.
Chief Nabors began his illustrious career with the Clarksdale Fire Department as a Firefighter. Through his hard work and dedication, he ascended through the ranks, serving as a Lieutenant, Captain, Training Chief, and finally, as Fire Chief. Since assuming the role of Fire Chief in 2016, Chief Nabors has led the department with distinction, overseeing significant advancements and improvements.
Under Chief Nabors’ leadership, the Clarksdale Fire Department acquired a new fire engine, established a state-of-the-art training facility, and achieved an ISO class 4 rating. These accomplishments are a testament to his strategic vision and commitment to excellence. However, beyond these professional achievements, Chief Nabors is most proud of his family and his faith. His colleagues know him as a man of great strength and an even bigger heart.
As the Clarksdale Fire Department celebrates his retirement, they are comforted by his promise not to venture too far and to visit often. Chief Nabors’ legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire future generations of firefighters in Clarksdale.
