Lyon Elementary Celebrates May Day Coronation with “An Enchanted Evening”

Clarksdale, Mississippi – Lyon Elementary School transformed into a realm of magic and charm on May Day, hosting its annual coronation ceremony under the theme “An Enchanted Evening.” The event was a delightful blend of tradition, pageantry, and community spirit, celebrating the school’s young leaders and their achievements.

The ceremony began with an invocation delivered by Ms. Jamill Henry, setting a reflective and respectful tone for the evening. Mrs. Katrina Jackson followed with a warm welcome, expressing her gratitude to the students, parents, and staff for their support and involvement in the school’s activities.

Adriana Murray took on the role of Mistress of Ceremony, guiding the audience through the evening’s festivities with grace and poise. Her eloquent announcements and engaging presence kept the atmosphere lively and enjoyable.

The highlight of the evening was the crowning of Lyon Elementary’s royalty. Principal Marcus Johnsin had the honor of crowning the distinguished students, marking a significant moment in their young lives.

Leah Turner was crowned Little Miss Lyon, her bright smile and joyful demeanor lighting up the stage. Handsome Dickens was honored with the title of Mr. Little Lyon, his confidence and charm winning the hearts of those in attendance.

Jamarlon Fair jr. was crowned Mr. Lyon, showcasing his leadership and dedication to his peers and school community. Ezaria Mosley was bestowed with the title of Miss Lyon, her elegance and grace epitomizing the qualities Lyon Elementary seeks to nurture in its students.

The crowning moment of May Day King and Queen went to Hershawn Washington and Ranyia Riley. Their regal bearing and the admiration from their peers made their crowning moment truly magical, encapsulating the enchantment of the evening.

The May Day Coronation was more than just a celebration of titles; it was a recognition of the hard work, character, and potential of Lyon Elementary’s students. Each crowned individual represents the spirit and values of the school, promising a bright future filled with possibilities.
